Today was the day of aerial acrobats of two different kind. In the morning we had some beautiful Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) which showed us their jumping prowess. In the afternoon trip we also spotted some Bottlenose dolphins, after a long, wet and bumpy ride, but they stayed under the the water. Instead we got another marine aerial acrobat, the Flying fish (Cheilopogon melanurus). Some joined our boat, some even literally by jumping on board. They jump out of the water to flee from predators like dolphins or bigger fish.
Apart from these acrobats on both trips we saw the beautiful Portuguese man-o-war (Physalia physialis) sailing on the surface of the Atlantic.
