Despite gray and cloudy skies, our guests had sun in their hearts today, at least after seeing the huge school of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) that were very active around the boat. There must have been 100-200 animals. It’s always great to see our summer dolphins. On the way back we saw another Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus).
The midday tour was characterised by deep-sea divers. We had Blainville’s beaked whales (Mesoplodon densirostris) twice and Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) once, which have to dive deeper due to their feeding preference. One of our young guests said something very nice. ‘This is the best day of my life.’ That made me very happy. Wish him many more best days in his life. On the way back we saw Bottlenose dolphins.
