Today’s trips were a bit challenging. While the sea had been flat and calm just yesterday, today the spotters on land had to locate marine mammals amidst the wave crests and whitecaps. The skippers had to steer the boats safely through the wind and waves to reach the animals. And the guests on board, especially those on the fishing boat, had to endure quite a bit of rocking and rolling.
Everyone passed the test!
The spotters found Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) and bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) for us.
The skippers steered the boats safely through the swells.
The guests passed their “seafaring test” and, as one young man so nicely put it while returning to the harbor this morning “Everything swam well” 😉
