Nach dem Blumenfest am Sonntag in Funchal, gab es heute ein Fest mit den Grossen Tümmlern auf dem Meer vor Calheta. Sie zogen stetig Richtung Westen, verweilten aber auch in der Bugwelle und sozialisierten unter,- und miteinander. Am Nachmittag gab es wieder Grosse Tümmler, aber auch Gemeine Delfine.
After the flower festival on sunday in Funchal, today we had a festival with the Bottlenose Dolphins on the ocean around Calheta. They traveled westwards, stayed in our bow and socialized. In the afternoon trip we encountered again Bottlenose Dolphins and as well Common Dolphins.
Diesem Grossen Tümmler hängt eine Plastiktüte an der Finne, wenn diese sich unglücklich auf das Blasloch legte, könnte es fatale Auswirkungen habe. Ebenfalls fatal sind solche Tüten für Schildkröten, die sie mit Quallen, ihrer Lieblingsspeise, verwechseln. Aber auch in Fischen werden immer mehr Plastikpartikel gefunden. Tonnen von Plastik gelangen in unsere Meere und im Grunde vergiften wir Menschen uns damit nur selber. Deshalb werden wir zum nächsten Welttag der Ozeane, am 8. Juni 2015, eine Kampagne starten.
This Bottlenose Dolphin has a plastic bag hanging at its fin, if this bag would lay onto the blowhole, it could have fatal consequences for the dolphin. These plastic bags are fatal as well for turtles, which confound them with jellyfish, their favorite food. But as well there’s found more and more plastic particles in fish and seafood. Tons of plastic are getting into the oceans, reaching and poisoning us humans by our own miss-behavior. For this reason we will start a campaign for the next World Ocean Day on 8th. June 2015.
