04.07.2025 – Always, seasonally and from time to time

During the day our guests saw different species of dolphins today. In the morning we had Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), “our human watchers”. They are our summer dolphins and therefore seasonal.

At lunchtime, we saw Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), which are resident in Madeira’s waters all year round.

In the afternoon, we also had bBottlenose dolphins and Risso dolphins (Grampus griseus). The latter are occasional visitors for us.

This makes it clear that we have the chance to observe dolphins all year round and it also remains exciting, as there is always something different to see.
