This morning we had a nice tour with nice guests and Rough-toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis), Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) with a tiny little calf and a Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus). The latter, however, was somewhat reserved. Perhaps the attention from the various boats was a little too much for him.
The wind had picked up by midday. Island weather can change quickly. Nevertheless, we had some great sightings! Rough-toothed dolphins were swimming synchronously and a small group of Bottlenose dolphins were also in the area. Afterwards we went to see Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus), which were resting.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel the last Ribeira Brava tour due to the weather conditions.
