In the morning our guests proved that they are true wave riders. The journey went west towards the high swell. The motto was simply to go along with the ups and downs. The effort was worth it because we were able to observe extremely dynamic Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) that knew how to ride the crests of the waves well. In some cases the animals came almost halfway out of the water. A large bull was right next to the boat for quite a while. Males are 6-7 m long and around 45 years old. The females are smaller, more like 3-4 m and live over 60 years.
You can find our petition lists under this link. To support Pilot whales, they sign Japan/Taiji and Faroe Islands.

The trip continued and we were able to watch a few Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) jumping.
On the lunch tour there were Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and Pilot whales. The group of Pilot whales were very relaxed when we met them.
On the adventure tour we went far to see pilot whales. After the boat in front of us left the sighting, the pilot whales disappeared into the depths and were no longer seen. But just before the harbor there were bottlenose dolphins.
