24.08.2021 – Soul flatterers

Today was a wonderful day at sea. While at the end of last week we often had to go far out to sea to meet our friends of the blue expanse, today they were very close to the coast. They were practically right on our doorstep.

Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) were everywhere, several groups of these small dolphins in different areas. Spotted dolphins are joy donors, soul flatterers, happiness makers. When they go around the boat, it is as if the heart is tickled. Some people laugh, others have tears of joy, everyone is touched in their own personal way. That’s what makes me happy. Of course, these dolphins also cast a loving spell on me, but experiencing my guests to be touched, increases the intensity of the experience. Joy, admiration, amazement, fascination and bliss, that is what we share in this very special moment.

The elegant Short-beaked Common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) were also admired, which we really enjoyed.

Only the shy Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) behaved … well, shy.
