24.02.2024 – Wave and dolphin extravaganza!

Embark on a mesmerising ocean journey where Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) commanded respect with their imposing presence. Glide alongside our vessel, they became a living testament to the grandeur of the ocean realm. As we marvelled at these majestic creatures, our spotter called out another spectacle—a small pod of Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), including two moms and two calves, joined the aquatic ballet, adding vibrant energy to the scene.

But the adventure didn’t stop there! Nature’s ambassadors, the Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), welcomed us with sleek forms slicing through the waves in effortless elegance. Each encounter unveiled the intricate tapestry of life beneath the surface—a woven masterpiece of diversity, resilience, and sheer magnificence.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden farewell to the day’s adventures, we reflected on the privilege of witnessing such natural wonders. Our hearts brimmed with gratitude for the fleeting glimpse into a world beyond our own—a world where dolphins, whales, and countless other creatures dance in harmony.
