First and foremost, I would like to thank all guests very warmly !!! After a ride that had to be canceled on Saturday due to bad weather, today there was a delay due to technical problems. Most of the guests on Saturday had decided to come with us today and then … but Neptune meant well with us. With a bit of delay we were able to drive to go out on a wavy sea, but everyone was determined to try their luck, especially the children. And so I am happy for all, the adults and especially the enthusiastic children, that there was a happy ending! On our morning tour, there were rain curtains here and there, but first, we didn‘t get the shower and second we had an absolutely great, special sighting with Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and absolutely wonderful Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus). It makes me really happy that after a long, patient wait, the joy on board was so great to marvel at the marine mammals of Madeira.
And how were that kids (and adults) … what do you call a group of dolphins? Yes, exactly, one calls such a group, school or pod! And how was that kids (and adults), who has the say in the Pilot whale pod? Yes, exactly it is female power! And how were that adults … who needs to be protected and how;)? Yes, exactly, all and you can do this on our petition site under marine protection!
In the afternoon there was the second happy ending! We saw active, curious Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) and a Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) that slid down into the depths after vigorous breathing. Also a very nice tour! And here too … sign against whaling and the other petitions.
