Claudia’s impressions: Today was the PILOT WHALE-day, cause on all of our trips we encountered pilot whales. And these mammals showed us once again how fast everything might change in nature. In the morning the pilot whales were heading east calm and quietly, on midday they were going very fast towards the west and we could widnes why pilot whales are called the cheetahs of the oceans. Probably they were hunting, but we had some calm moments close to the Stenella as well.
Not only the direction and the behaviour of the animals changes, as well the ocean, its colours and the play of the clouds. These constant changes never let it get boring and it always stays exciting.
Fatima’s impressions: How amazing to experience PILOT WHALES the whole day long! These are real gifts! Dear guest of the evening trip how I promised I marked this trip in my calendar! How often does it happens to have three species (PILOT WHALES, ATLANTIC SPOTTED DOLPHINS, BOTTLENOSE DOLPHINS) socialising altogether on one spot! You thanked us for this incredible trip but actually we have to say Thank you to these animals who shared by choice a part of their life with us. The best way to say Thank you is in signing the petitions (Faroe Islands/Pilot whales – Japan/Taiji – Dolphinarium on Madeira and more) under “Marine protection”. Theses animals thanked you already with these amazing sightings!
