            21.02.2025 – Swell and dolphins

Published by Marlene Cabral on February 27, 2025

These days Madeira has been under an Anti-cyclonic depression and the ocean outside has been a bit rough with high swells and wind.

We managed to go out with our traditional boat, and our spotter despite the difficult conditions out at sea, he managed to find us a sighting. After travelling for a while through the waves, we found the magnificent Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). For some of our clients the ride was not a smooth one but for our cetaceans they were having the time of their lives. They were jumping and making acrobatics for the delight of the guests.
