Today we needed quite some patience, due the Atlantic Spotted dolphins were on their own mission, swimming steady away from the coastline. But we had a happy end, since a little subgroup from the huge school was interested on us. How beautiful to see the trust dolphin mothers have in bringing their offspring close to our boat. These calves are still so tiny, so vulnerable and patronized. Usually it stays close to mommy’s dorsal fin, so it can benefit from the pull and here it is as well camouflaged, a good position not to be seen from attackers. But sometimes these little calves jump curiously out of the water. Also on our trip at 12h we had to wait patiently until we had another Spotted dolphin happy ending.
