Having a glassy ocean surface while a set of waves passed under the boat gave a kind of levitating sensation onboard the STENELLA. As predicted by the weather forecast, we had practically no wind and the peak of swell started hitting the coastline. With such optimal conditions for spotting cetaceans we moved from one sighting to another always accompanying the ocean inertia. Some of the Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) were also taking advantage of the free ride at our bow while the first arriving Cory’s Shearwaters (Calonectris borealis) were gliding swiftly above the waves.
