The day began with a phantastic speech from Hal Whitehead in the Congress Centrum in Funchal, where all “Lobis”, which are working directly with cetacean (spotter, guides and skipper) were present. The talk was about the Sperm Whales of the Atlantic and the Pacific, a really good breakfast!!!
In the afternoon both boats went out to the “field work”, not towards Sperm Whales, but to see Bottlenose Dolphins and the guests from Stenella as well had a fast disapearing pod of Striped Dolphins. On the Ribeira Brava instead we had sightings of a big and a tiny small Loggerhead Turtle. Not to forget Nemo, which came onboard together with the smallest passenger and not to forget the lots of Portugiese Man of War, we had to admire.
