12.09.2014 – Fischsuppe

Heute gab es bei allen Touren nicht nur Große Tümmler, Atlantische Fleckendelfine und Brydewale zu sehen, sondern auch viele Fresssituationen. Was für eine Freude zu wissen, dasses  in diesem Jahr so viel Fisch gibt.  Hier können wir häufig die Schutzstrategie der Schwarmfische beobachten. Was wie in ein großes Etwas aussieht, sind in Wirklichkeit viele einzelne Fischkörper, die dicht an dicht schwimmen. Andere Fische mögen sich durch den großen Umriß aubschrecken lassen, für die Delfine mit ihrem Sonar ist es jedoch eine Leichtigkeit, die leckeren Einzelhäppchen zu erkennen. Und das große Fressen beginnt.

Today we didn’t only got to see bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins and Bryde whales, but also many feeding situations. What a joy for us, and specially for the dolphins, that this many fish is around. On many our pictures you can observe the protection mechanism fish use, what looks like a big “something” are in fact many little fish that swimm close to each other so they look like a big, dangerous “something”. But unfortunately for the little fish they can’t scare the dolphins away, with their sonar they very quickly recognize the delicious meal.
