I’ve been away visiting my grandma. A very important person to me who taught curiosity through postcards I would receive from her from far off lands. She also tried to teach me both patience and organisation, but both of those failed. Luckily, I’ve had another teacher of patience, and that is the game of whale watching. Today we patiently waited and successfully saw Short Finned Pilot Whales (Globicephala macrorhychus) fitting, as these large dolphins (yes, dolphins!!) are one of the only other animals on the planet who will go through menopause, and we believe they do this so they can act as grandparents to younger members of their family unit.
