            07.07.2026 – Bottlenose dolphins

Published by Gemma Stockmans on July 13, 2026
Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops Truncatus) live in complex societies where strong relationships are essential. Rather than forming strict, permanent hierarchies, they create dynamic social groups that change over time. Females often stay together with their calves, while males form long-lasting alliances, working together to compete for mates and protect one another.
These friendships can last for many years and demonstrate an impressive level of cooperation and intelligence. Watching a pod travel, communicate, and coordinate their movements is always a reminder that there is far more happening beneath the surface than first meets the eye. Every encounter offers a glimpse into the remarkable social world of one of the ocean’s most intelligent marine mammals.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We look forward to sharing more unforgettable wildlife encounters with you soon!
