Today on our morning tour we were lucky and after some up and down in the waves, we finally found a little school common dolphins. They were pretty curious and kept on going with our boat. The afternoon trip started well with a sudden sighting of a marine turtle, Caretta caretta (Loggerhead turtle). Usually these marine reptiles prefers calmer seas, when they have a rest at the watersurface. They do this in order to get warm again and to heat up their metabolism by the sunbath. Unfortunately after this sighting, besides a few “portugese man of war” (Cnidaria), we could not find any marine mammals. Also our talented spotter (Lookout from land) couldn’t help us today. Maybe because the animals were further out at sea, where we couldn’t go to because of waves and winds.
