Today we went with our speedboat Stenella out to sea. Shortly before the tour, the wind freshened up a bit and wispy foam caps were waiting for us … but not only wave crests were around the boat, no! In between we discovered lots of Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), which used the waves as a playground for various activities. Some surfed with a lightness that only a dolphin can show. Others skipped the waves like little acrobats.
Many, many of these small marine mammals accompanied our boat Stenella for a long time. These lively, agile dolphins are to be counted among the group of the Stenella’s and thus also the name sake for our speedboat. Which today, thanks to Daniel, our skipper, the waves and the sea also mastered great. On the way back we could take a look at our beautiful island along the coastline. 🙂
