We can do our best, but that doesn’t always ensure a sighting. Our spotter informed us on the way out that he had sighted a whale, but for the moment it had disappeared. Bottlenose dolphins were supposed to be near a traditional fishing boat, but after waiting there for quite a while without success, the spotter sent us to the area where he had spotted the Fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus) again. We heard it for the first time, but there was no sign of the second largest animal on our planet. Once we were lucky and saw the Fin whale very briefly.
