02.04.2026 – Rendezvous

A busy day! In the morning, we spotted the Fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus) again in the distance; it had been in our area over the last few days. The Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) showed an interest in us.

At midday we saw more Bottlenose dolphins, four Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) and a pair of lovebirds. Two sea terns were having a romantic rendezvous on a piece of driftwood.

In the evening, a little guest had some special birthday friends. Bottlenose dolphins accompanied the boat and later two Common dolphins dropped by briefly for a flying visit. A Portuguese man-of-war (Physalia physalis) particularly delighted the birthday boy.
