Unsere ersten Rauzahndelfine für 2010 sahen wir heute, willkommen vor Madeira, wo sie im Sommer vorbeiziehen. Außerdem sahen wir eine große Schule Fleckendelfine und einen Pottwalbullen.

Our first rough toothed dolphins for the zear 2010 we saw today, willcome on madeira island, where they pass during summer time. As well we saw a big pod atlantic spotted dolphins and a big male sperm whale.

Vimos hoje os nossos primeiros caleirões para o ano 2010, bem vinda cá na ilha da madeira, onde eles passam durante o Verão. Tambem vimos um grande grupo de golfinhos pintados e um cachalote macho.

Steno bredanensis

Große Augen, rosa-weiße “Lippen”, das sind die Rauzahndelfine. Fleckendelfine sehen runder aus und je älter sie werden umso mehr Flecken bekommen sie.

Big eyes, rosa-white “lips”, that are the rough toothed dolphins. Spotted dolphins are more round and they build their spots while getting older and older.

Olhos grandes, “lábios” cor de rosa – brancos, isto são os caldeirões. Golfinhos pintados são mais redondos e distinguam-se pelas pintas que aparecem com a idade.

Stenella frontalis

Die größten Zahnwale sind die Pottwale, hier ein Pottwalmännchen, ein Bulle, den wir 10 Minuten begleiten durften bis er in der Tiefe verschwandt auf der Suche nach Riesenkraken.

The biggest toothed whales are the sper whales, here is a sperm whale male, which we could observe during 10 minutes till it began its deep diving, looking for gigant squit.

O maior odontoceti é o cachalote, aqui um macho cachalote, que acompanhamos durante 10 minutos até ele começou o seu mergulho profundo para caçar lulas gigantes.
