A day with different sightings lies behind us. For both tours we had to drive far, towards Cabo Girão.
Our guests in the morning found themselves in a large group of Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) whirling around the boat. On the way back to the harbor, they saw two Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) diving at a steep angle. Hopefully these animals found in the depth, their preferred food, squid. In the area of the Pilot whales we discovered a group of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops trucatus), which moved with powerful elegance through the sea.
In the afternoon on the tour with the Ribeira Brava there was a school Common Dolphins (Delphinus delphis). These uniquely drawn animals are available in duplicate. Long-Beaked and Short-Beaked Common dolphins. In the waters of Madeira, however, we only encounter the Short-Beaked variant. And on this note, we would also like to welcome our new guide Scott as a team member for this summer!
