As we left the harbor, the sun glittered on the ocean, the sea was still quite calm, but the waves increased as the tour progressed. The present-day group of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) moved towards the south-east and behaved rather cautiously towards the boat.
Bottlenose dolphins are found in all seas. You can find them in colder waters as well as in tropical spheres. What is interesting is that Bottlenose dolphins are not that big in the Caribbean. In Ireland, however, one can encounter extremely large animals. There are three types of Bottlenose dolphins, the Atlantic, Indo-Pacific, and Pacific Bottlenose dolphins. There is a subspecies of the Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin, the Tursiops truncatus ponticus, which lives in the Black Sea.
