Wow! What a great tour!
Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) everywhere, it felt like hundreds, but to stick with the facts, we had 8-10 of these large toothed whales. But since there were spouts all around us, the experience of this sighting was extremely intense. It was whale soup for the eyes and the heart. And in the midst of these whales, a group of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) buzzed around.
Incidentally, Sperm whales have the largest heads, the largest brains and the loudest sounds of all animals in the world. It is believed that Sperm whales can stun their prey with their intense, loud sound. This makes it much easier to pick up the stunned prey.
