09.08.2019 – Breathing exercise with gratitude

On our morning tour with the Ribeira Brava we had waves with waves and waves with Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). It was really bumpy, but our guests could still see this little dolphin species quite well.

In the afternoon, wondrously great masterpieces of nature drifted through our Blue Office. One, two, three Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) let us hold our breath in astonishment. The first animal was even accompanied by some Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops trucatus)! We had an absolute goose bump experience as the first animal headed straight for us, then stood right in front of our bow upright in the water (so he was able to look at us more closely) and then with a reverse rotation he past us. What an unforgettable, adventurous and beautiful experience!! We could have touched this giant of the seas! An incredibly close encounter that this gray fellow gave us!

Most of us might not know but these huge whales, whether Sperm whale or Baleen whale spent us life! These huge whales are not just absolutely fantastic, unique works of art that the sea has created in wonderful, patient mini-work. These are not just imaginative inspirations of nature, these whales are incredibly important life givers in the great ocean and not just there! At first it may sound funny, but its whale shit is of great importance to the marine environment! It provides nutrients for zoo plankton, which is the basis of the food chain. It brings nutrients to the phytoplankton! At least 50% of the oxygen we breathe is produced in the sea!! Every second breath we owe to the sea! I think there are enough reasons to protect these uniqueness. Please sign our petition against whaling under whale watching / marine protection!

And maybe you would like to do the following breathing exercise with gratitude and a thank you? Breathe consciously … first breath – say inwardly “thank you ocean”, second breath “thank you plants” … third breath “thank you ocean” .. it quickly becomes clear: we must ensure that this habitat with life-elixir-factor stays well receive :)

In the evening there was a long search for the marine mammals. And almost last minutes we found Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruloealba), which were in great mood to jump.
