            16.02.2018 – Jumping after Garfish

Published by Marlene Cabral on March 2, 2018

During the Winter months its not only the air temperature that decreases but also the Ocean temperature that drops. Even in Sub-tropical regions we can, more or less, define seasons and onboard during a whale watching trip, the use of extra clothes is necessary. Underwater in winter time, with lower temperature and less daylight, we can also observe a variation in fish species that dolphins feed on. For each fish species there is always a more specialised hunter and like today, many leaps over water by Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), chasing shoals of Garfish (Belone belone)….
