            26.07.2026 – Memorable

Published by Gemma Stockmans on August 1, 2026

Today was another unforgettable day on the Atlantic, with calm seas, excellent conditions, and fantastic wildlife encounters on both of our trips.

Our morning adventure was filled with incredible sightings of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). These energetic and playful dolphins delighted everyone on board as they swam alongside the boat, surfed the bow waves, and showed off their acrobatic behaviour.

Our afternoon excursion brought even more excitement with a memorable encounter with a Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus), the largest of all toothed whales. Before surfacing, we spotted its unmistakable blow—a low, bushy spout that projects forward at an angle of about 45 degrees. This distinctive spouting pattern is caused by the whale’s single blowhole, which is positioned on the left side of its head, and is one of the easiest ways to identify a sperm whale from a distance. Watching the whale surface to breathe before preparing for another deep dive was a truly spectacular experience and a reminder of the incredible marine life that calls these waters home.

Days like these highlight just how special the Atlantic can be. From the playful energy of Atlantic spotted dolphins to the awe-inspiring presence of the mighty sperm whale, every trip offers a new opportunity to witness the beauty of the ocean and create lasting memories.

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
