01.05.2024 – A Day with Dolphins and Flying Fish!

Published by Paula Thake on May 8, 2024

Today, we were privileged to witness an array of oceanic marvels that left us spellbound. Our journey into the Atlantic unveiled the graceful dance of common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), the striking patterns of striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba), and the playful antics of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). But the surprises didn’t end there—the sky above us became a stage for Atlantic flying fish (Cheilopogon melanurus), while the spotted beauty of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) added another layer of wonder.

The common dolphins welcomed us with their acrobatic displays, while the striped dolphins showcased their agility in a breathtaking ballet. The charismatic smiles of the bottlenose dolphins drew us into their world, and the aerial ballet of the Atlantic flying fish added a touch of whimsy to the day. Lastly, the Atlantic spotted dolphins brought joy with their boundless energy and carefree frolicking.

As we sailed home, our hearts were full of gratitude for the privilege of witnessing such wonders—a reminder of the boundless beauty of the natural world.
