            30.08.2019 – Famous & notorious

Published by Fatima Kutzschbach on September 9, 2019

It did not took us long to arrive at the brunch area of our Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) and Cory‘s Shearwaters (Calonectris borealis). Fortunately, quite a few dolphins had apparently filled their stomachs and it was time to take a look at the visitors (us 🙂 ). Atlantic Spotted dolphins are famous  and notorious for their joy to get in contact 🙂 The curiosity of the animals was a pleasure for our guests.

Further away from the coast, the sea seemed to be full of dolphins. This time it was Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba). Unfortunately, these are famous and notoriously for their restrained nature. Nevertheless, it was an experience to see dorsal fins appear everywhere.

When we got the word from our spotter that he had seen Cuvier’s Beaked whales (Ziphius cavirostris), of course we wanted to look at these quaint fellows. But Cuvier’s Beaked whales are famous and of course  notorious for their long dives. Unfortunately, we did not got to see them anymore. Yet it was still a great tour.
