30.03.2015 – ET KÜTT WIE ET KÜTT

Morgenausfahrt: Endlich sahen wir mal wieder Streifendelfine (Stenella coeruleoalba) nach einer langen Zeit ohne Sichtungen dieser besonderen Art. Sehr weit von der Küste, ca. 6 Meilen entfernt, gelang es dem Vigia, uns richtig zu ? platzieren. Obwohl wir sie nur eine kurze Zeit beobachteten, haben die Gäste an Bord verstanden wie wichtig es war in einiger Entfernung zu bleiben. Die Delfine hatten kein Interesse unser Schiff zu begleiten. So haben wir nach 10 Minuten die Fahrt fortgesetzt und haben es noch geschafft, eine Schule Tümmler zu sehen, die aber auch nicht viel Interesse an unserer Stenella zeigten. Am Ende hat noch einer unserer Gäste von Bord aus, eine Schildkröte (Caretta caretta) entdeckt.

Morning trip: Finally we saw some Striped Dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba), after a long period whit out seeing this particular species. Very far from the Coast, about 6 miles, the Vigia managed to place us on the spot ?. Despite being a short time that we observed this species, the guests on board understood the importance of keeping some distance from the pod. The Dolphins were showing no interest in accompanying the boat, so after 10 min we continued our trip where we still managed to see some Bottlenose Dolphins, also not showing much interest on Stenella. At the end one of our guests on board still managed to spot a turtle (Caretta caretta).

Auf der Nachmittagsfahrt mit der Stenella haben wir Gemeine Delfine und Tümmler gesichtet. Letztere waren vielleicht die gleiche Gruppe, die wir auch schon morgens gesehenhatten. Nur waren sie nun in einer ganz anderen “Stimmung”, und wir hatten die Möglichkeit bessere Fotos zu schießen. So könnten wir sagen, dass uns die Natur für den Respekt, den wir ihnen morgens gewährt haben, kompensiert hat. 

In the afternoon trip Stenella sighted Common Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins. The last ones, maybe the same group of the morning trip, were in a complete different “mood”, where we had the opportunity to take better fotos and of corse a much better sighting for the guests on board. So we could say that Nature compensated us for giving the respect and distance towards the cetaceans observed during the morning trip.
