29.08.2015 – REALLY???

Claudia’s  Eindrücke: Zu dieser Jahreszeit beobachten wir hier vor Madeira für gewöhnlich die folgenden Bartenwale: tropische Wale oder Seiwale. Aber war es jetzt wirklich ein Finnwal? Really??? Ja, Jan und Tim hatten es ja schon vor der Sichtung gewusst. Es war ein FINNWAL, der zügig und in großen Tauchstrecken Richtung Westen zog. Nach diesem tollen Erlebnis hatten wir dann noch eine schöne Begegnung mit ruhig ziehenden PILOTWALEN, auch GRINDWALE genannt. Nicht zu vergessen die FALSCHE KARETTSCHILDKRÖTE, die unseren Weg kreuzte.

Claudia`s impressions: At this time of the year we often observe the following baleen whales: Tropical whales and Sei whales. But was it really a Fin whale? Really??? Yes, Jan and Tim already knew it before the sighting. And we confirm, it was a FIN WHALE, going fast to the west and coming up in big intervals. After this great event, we had a nice and close encounter with PILOT WHALES. Not to forget to mention the LOGGERHEAD SEA TURTLE we saw at the end of the trip.
