With a slight swell, we went out to sea today. Two different species of marine mammals were waiting for our guests there. Short-finned Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) and Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) delighted our guests.
Pilot whales are fascinating creatures. For them, female power applies. An experienced, older female takes the lead. Animals with this social structure maintain intense, close relationships. They support each other lovingly, stand up for one another and are able to experience deep emotions such as grief. When Pilot whales get stranded, the stranded animals have to be taken out of the water, because they communicate with their fellow whales, and they rush to the aid of the stranded ones. In doing so, they put themselves in danger. But the principle of leaving behind is alien to them.
Bottlenose dolphins are imposing dolphins, big and powerful. They can get quite interactive. A touching experience! Young animals are often very playful and curious. Today, a young animal zigzagged back and forth from the Ribeira Brava. Bottlenose dolphins are typically experienced as intense and impressive.
Cohesion, assistance, support, feminine energy, interaction, curiosity, playfulness, intensity and power were the wonderful energies that our guests could absorb and hopefully take with them for a long time to come.
