            27.07.2019 – To be found

Published by Fatima Kutzschbach on August 5, 2019

It was time again! We had a Saturday morning that was accompanied by magic. Two special things happened this morning. First, we had a particularly close encounter with the rare Rough-Toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis)! Second, they found us! Our everyday life out there means every minute attention, looking out, searching for … but today we were spoiled and the cuddly Rough-Toothed dolphins found us. That may be so too 🙂 Oh, who can resist the sweetness of these special Rough-Toothed dolphins?

These perfectionists in the formation swimming with their white “lips” have created in any case for great enthusiasm! An interesting question may arise with this particular name … why are the Rough-Toothed dolphins actually called Rough-Toothed dolphins? They have longitudinal lines in their teeth that, if rubbed against them, would form a rough surface. Oh yes, not to forget, there are two Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) hiding in the group of our Rough-Toothed dolphins!

And what have all our kids on board learned today? Who wants to be a dolphin protector, of course, never, never, never, never, never and never visits a dolphinarium! Incidentally, our youngest guest quickly became a captain! Another, special experience! And those who are so spontaneously appointed captain, of course, gets a special name. That’s a matter of honor! And what did he choose? Pippin, our little hobbit has chosen this name 🙂

The evening was said in one phrase: occupied by magical spotted energy. We had Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frotalis), Atlantic spotted dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins. Certainly unforgettable is the moment when an Atlantic Spotted dolphin made a turn around its own axis in the jump in the horizontal. How amazing as so little DOLPINS can cause such GREAT JOY! We all agreed that was absolutely top class. Oh, who can resist the joy of live of the Atlantic Spotted dolphins?
