24.07.2018 – Life is a storyteller

Every day countless stories are spun, from life itself and personally. Sometimes exciting, sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes exhilarating or ecstatic, sometimes with a bit of drama or with a happy ending … and sometimes it’s a complete success story! I will tell you a small part of the Lobosonda success story of today. There are peaceful, happy, adventurous, exciting chapters that astonished us today.

Chapter 1 – Devotional

Majestic and full of grace, bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) glided and tumbled through the morning and into our bow wave. There was peace, tranquility, mindfulness and full presence. The moment was full of devotion. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Chapter 2 – Passion

Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), the wild horde was quite passionate and could not be deterred by our presence in their X-rated acts. Belly on belly for quick, nimble moments of bliss they hissed through the blue. Will we be able to admire the little result in our bow wave next year? They were lively, wild, happy and our hearts hopped higher. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Chapter 3 – Confetti

These little Spotted dolphins, who are delighting us in large numbers, seem to have their true fun as they whiz through our waters. An infinite number of animals jumped, hopped, flew through the air like dolphin confetti. Each jump style was demonstrated and what the big ones could do, the little ones wanted to imitate naturally. So we saw even the smallest mini-calves make big leaps. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Chapter 4 – Surprise

Well we, as crew, already knew thanks to our spotter when left the harbor that there were sperm whales out there (Physeter macrocephalus)! And accompanied by happiness, we witnessed that moment, when time simply stood still, because one is moved, from the presents of one being from another world. The juvenile sperm whale drifted on the surface and then dived easily. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Chapter 5 – Baby charm

How touching, when a small sperm whale, still very young, completely unprotected, waiting for Mama, drifts on the surface. But even mother has to eat very urgently, for herself and also to produce milk for the little offspring. But today, this little sperm whale had a babysitter of hundreds, because our large school of Atlantic spotted dolphins was concerned that this little whale was in good hands. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Chapter 6 – Farewell

As if this day were not filled with many drops of happiness, we became observers of a perfect farewell. But, of course, preparation is needed for such an act of absolute surrender to depth, to darkness and infinity. The sound of the fourth whale sounded “Psch, psch, psch”, he blew out powerfully to suck in and store oxygen, before he elegantly raised and lowered the fluke to a depth that is unimaginable to us. No better moment than being in the middle of now!

Remember, only one of the three guides gives the stories that life has written for us today … there are so many more chapters to tell that have certainly found their place in the hearts of the guests.

Yes, today life has a wonderful story for us. Without question and whole heartedly I can say: this was a LOBOSONDA SUCCESS STORY! Thanks spotter, thanks to all the captains, thanks to all the guides, thanks to our great booking team, thanks to the wonderful guests and the very special marine mammals!

And how will it be tomorrow? We will get surprised!
