July 23rd is dedicated to World Whales and Dolphins Day! The International Whaling Commission chose this day in 1986. A reminder that these beautiful, sensitive marine mammals are still companions. Noise in the sea, sea pollution, whaling, plastic, collisions are some of the factors that not only make life difficult for whales and dolphins, but can even kill them. If you would like to make a small contribution to protection, you can show your commitment to our petitions.

Today we had nice sightings with the Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) on our Ribeira Brava. Atlantic spotted dolphins love to glide in the bow wave of the boat. Our guests love watching them do it. Perfect combination, I would say. In the morning a young guest had brought a humpback whale. Did he know that today is World Whale and Dolphin Day?
