Today was not an easy day for our team. We had to cancel both our Ribeira Brava tours and our snorkelling tour in the morning due to the difficult wind conditions. A pod of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) that our spotter discovered near Ribeira Brava then prompted our crew to attempt the afternoon tour on our Stenella but the conditions persisted and despite our efforts the group was nowhere to be seen. As we drove back to Calheta we then practically stumbled across a small pod of Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba), beautiful but generally evasive dolphins that can be seen in Madeira all year round. We quickly lost the dolphins in the wind but are so grateful at the patience and understanding of our guests and are happy that our efforts were appreciated.
