Wow, we had a great time at sea today on the Ribeira Brava. First cuddly Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and then a wild pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). Although … that’s not quite true! There were many, many, many, many, many Atlantic spotted dolphins everywhere, really everywhere. So I have a feeling this is going to be a spotted dolphin summer. The Atlantic has officially been renamed the ‘Spotted Sea’ as of today. The guests definitely enjoyed being carried away by the playfulness and joie de vivre of the little fellows. Just as they enjoyed the calm, powerful encounter with the Bottlenose dolphins. Both species provided a unique and very special experience.
