Astrid’s  Eindrücke: Bis auf die Ausfahrt mit der Calcamar, konnten wir auf all unseren Fahrten GROSSE TUEMMLER beobachten. Da es sich immer um die selbe Delfinschule handelte, musste die Annäherung (Bootskontakt) besonders vorsichtig geschehen um die Tiere nicht unnötig zu stressen und so waren die „Besuchszeiten“ entsprechend kurz. In dieser Zeit konnten wir verschiedene Details sehen. Z.B. dass es in der Gruppe, mit 4-5 Jungtieren Delfinzuwachs gibt. Ein anderer, erwachsener Delffin hat wohl vor einiger Zeit, bei einem Unfall, die Spitze seiner Rückenfinne verloren. Die GROSSEN TUEMMLER, um die es sich handelt, leben das ganze Jahr in den Gewässern um Madeira herum und sind Vertreter der küstennahen Form der Art.

Astrid`s impressions: Except for the tour with Calcamar, we could see on all our tours BOTTLENOSE DOLPHINS. Because it was always the same goup of animals, we needed to be very careful with our approach, for not stressing them even more. During the sightings we could see details, like f.e. that there were 4-5 class in the group. One adult dolphin had a special mark on his dorsal fin (he lost the tip of this fin). This group of BOTTLENOSE DOLPHINS is living all year around in the waters of Madeira. They belong to the coastal type of the species.
