20.04.2024 – Understanding our sightings

Embarking on our maritime escapade today, we were greeted by a medley of marine marvels that left us spellbound. As the gentle waves rocked our vessel, we found ourselves in the company of Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), Short-finned Pilot Whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus), and Striped Dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba).

The Stenella stole the spotlight with a mesmerizing display of Striped Dolphins, their sleek bodies adorned with vibrant stripes, darting effortlessly through the water. Meanwhile, aboard the Ribeira Brava, though the sea remained elusive, the promise of future encounters lingered in the salty air.

As a Whale watching company, we are reminded, that it is a dance with nature, where the rhythm is set not by our plans but by the ever-changing whims of the ocean and its inhabitants. Today’s sightings were a testament to this truth, a reminder of the awe-inspiring unpredictability that awaits us beneath the surface.
