Apart from being the album title to a great Radiohead album, I find today’s blog title quite fitting in regard to the highlights of today’s morning tours. As both our Ribeira Brava and our Stenella set out onto a windy and choppy ocean, several rainbows decorated the coastline making our team hopeful for sightings.
On days like these our speedboat acts as an extension of our spotter; we do our best to cover as much ground as possible and widen our search area. This way we can make sure that we do not miss anything interesting. Our Stenella searched and searched, first heading upwind towards the west and the foot of the rainbows, before heading south. It was a bumpy ride but we had a magnificent view of Madeira, where the mountain tops were cloudy with snow imminent to fall on its peaks.
Unfortunately, despite our efforts, both boats did not manage a sighting today. Our guests were content nonetheless and it simply grows to show that appreciating the little wonders that we take for granted often does the trick.
