During our afternoon trip, our spotter called us to say he had seen a group of Pilot Whales…. about 12 miles offshore! And so we set course with the Ribeira Brava to find these beautiful animals. It was a bit of a transit, but it was totally worth it. Our guests were amazed just how big these dolphins are (pilot ‘whales’ are actually dolphins and get up to six meters!). The pilot whales were curious, and came up very close to our boat. We had happy guests and a happy crew!
