What a nice afternoon tour we had today and, from what I heard, that the morning tour was an experience too!
In the afternoon our Stenella almost went up to Cabo Girão, but it was worth it. Our sightings began with Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) who took a little shy route while the Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) we encountered afterwards became quite interactive and almost cuddly in the course of the encounter. Today, however, the small, cheeky Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) did not succeed in irritating the dark dolphins and darted off at a fast pace. During our second sighting they showed us great jumps. In two photos you can see the classic “question mark – leap” (I just invented this term, but it applies don’t you think?).
And all three species, as different as they are, have one thing in common: they are all dolphins! And all guests have one thing in common! They enjoyed this tour 🙂
