Physeter macrocephalus

Ein “Geburtstagsgeschenk” für einen Gast an Bord, ein aufregender Tag auf alle Fälle und wieder habe auch ich etwas Neues erlebt. Wir sahen Pottwale, eine falsche Karettschildkröte und gemeine Delfine. Eins der zwei Pottwalbabys kam neugierig von ganz allein so nah an unser Boot und schaute uns an, schwamm etwas im Bug und zog dann weiter. Seine Mutter hatte es hier oben bei uns allein zurück gelassen um in der Tiefe nach Riesenkalamaren zu tauchen.

An exciting day, for sure, and even me learned something more on todays trip. We spotted sperm whales, a Loggerhead turtle and common dolphins. One of the two very small sperm whale babys came, all by its own, towards our vessel to explore us from closer, then it went into the bow and went its way. Its mother let it at the surface with us while diving into the deep to look for gigant squit, their favorite food.

Um dia muito especial e até eu aprendeu e observei uma coisa nova. Observamos cachalotes, uma tartaruga boba e golfinhos comuns. Um dos dois cachalote bebés fui muito curioso e aproximou-se da nossa embarcação, nadando ao lado, sempre olhando, e depois fui para a nossa proa e segui o seu caminho. A mãe dele deixou o bebé na superfície connosco enquanto fui mergulhar para o fundo do mar a procura da sua comida favorita, lulas gigantes.
