Today there was always a bit of nature magic for our guests.
On this grey morning, we went in search of Sperm whales, dolphins and Pilot whales but what we found was a Tropical whale (Balaenoptera edeni) that crossed our path. An experience full of quietness yet of powerful magic. A short flying visit from the Common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) and the admiration of the diving Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the distance made our morning guests stand still. 🙂
The afternoon was dedicated to the dolphins. We started with a large, very active group of Common dolphins, who romped in the waves. There was a lively co-existence between the animals and again with our boat. Such a lively magic. Then the intensity level rose again because the rare guests, our Rough- Toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis), showed off their cuddly side. In their typical way these dolphins perform their specialty: the synchronized swimming in a masterly way. In some photos you can see another peculiarity of these animals. Rough-Toothed dolphins have a white “lips” drawing, along the edge of their beaks, there is a white line, giving the impression of white lips. This group of our far too rare visitors, flattered the boat properly. So cute, so close, so friendly. True magical magic!
