On today’s morning tour, it was not easy to come into contact with the Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). The small subgroup we had around our boat were busy filling their stomachs. Common dolphins have both smaller squid, but prefer smaller schooling fish on their save plan. With up to 65 teeth per half of the jaw, they are among the most toothy of all marine mammals.
In one of the photos, you can see a man-o-war fish (Nomeus gronovii) that was traveling together with a Portuguese man-o-war (Physalia physalis).
In the afternoon the same situation, although Common dolphins were there, but contact was virtually impossible. But Filipe, our captain, didn’t give up, and it paid off. After a long trip trying to reach the dolphins, the time had finally come. Our guests had a nice sighting thanks to Filipe. Thank you, you made our trip!
