            12.08.2023 – Soup

Published by Fatima Kutzschbach on August 20, 2023

Today there was a yellow haze over the sea. Visibility was not particularly good and our spotter was pushed to the limit. When the so-called “Leste” hits us, it brings heat and poor visibility. These are tours that feel like swimming in a soup.

Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) could be observed this morning. At noon Bottlenose dolphins, Rough-toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis) and Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) showed up. How lucky we were at noon that these three species of dolphins stayed close to the coast and could be discovered by our spotter. In the evening we briefly saw Bottlenose dolphins, which was followed by a tangle of Atlantic Atlantic spotted dolphins and Cory’s shearwaters. Some were active in the wet blue, others in the air.

If you want to stand up Bottlenose dolphins and other marine mammal species, you’ve come to the right place on our petition page. To do something for the protection of Bottlenose Dolphins, Pilot Whales, Riso Dolphins etc, please click on the Japan/Taiji Petition. The petition against the Faroe Islands campaigns against the slaughter of Pilot whales and White sided dolphins.
