We had a great morning with majestically diving Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus), cuddly Rough-toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis) and a group of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and a small calf, which suddenly took the opportunity to eat their sashimi meal. On tours like this, it is always important to realise that we are in the habitat of these wonderful marine mammals and are merely guests. Today we were particularly welcomed by the Rough-toothed dolphins that danced around the boat.
It was a long search at midday, but in the end we were able to observe the small school of Bottlenose dolphins from the morning. Amongst the six animals was the juvenile and this adorable little calf.
In the evening, a Tropical whale (Balaenoptera edeni) travelled close to the coast. However, there were seven whale-watching boats in its vicinity. On the way back we again saw the small school of Bottlenose dolphins with their little calf. A long day for these animals.
