Today I learned a new English expression “Coddiwomple”. A guest told me that it comes from Old English and means to be on the move without any particular reason or direction. Such information is absolutely to my liking. The young man was a wise soul and I enjoyed his insights into life. We think we always have to have to have a goal, a task. We think everything has to be productive. But sometimes it’s just a matter of just being, of noticing the moment. And this might be the moment to find ourselves. A wonderful inspiration in everyday stress, in the hustle and bustle. Thank you, dear guest, for this new expression and the valuable insights.
On both tours today we had Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) as well as Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala Macrorhynchus). There were wonderful encounters with these marine mammals on both tours. In the afternoon the animals were coddiewampleing. In the afternoon we hear not only the sounds of the Pilot whales but also the satisfied sounds of the guests. How do they sound? There were enthusiastic “Ah’s” and “Oh’s.” I find both sounds, those of the Pilot whales, as well as the acoustic enthusiasm of the guests, wonderful.
